ICS Education Guides and Books
Basic medical skills applied on patients are introduced to the students and familiarity with clinical skills is enhanced. ICS is composed of both theoretical and practical classes and the students have the chance to practice with models, simulated patients and the latest technology equipment. ICS has 3 main components within itself. First one is the research activity. Students will have the chance to carry out their own research and present to MASCO which is a Marmara University congress and many other international congresses that are taking place. The second component of the ICS is communication skills. We want our students to deal with their patients and their families in the best way possible after their graduation. This is why the students are required to learn from the rules of ethics, patient rights to how to make an eye contact with a patient. Third and the final component of ICS is the clinical skills part. In this part of the course, every student will have the chance to learn and gain hands on basic medical experience. This will start with correct sterilization tecniques and continue with how to draw blood, checking blood pressure, stitching a patient, first aid procedures and similar basic medical skills. All three parts of ICS are taught in combination thus the students gain complete understanding of the importance of professional development, communication skills and research in medicine.
