Mission Vision Statement

Vision/ Mission 

Mission: Train doctors who can produce universally accepted information, aiming to increase the individuals' life quality based on the needs of society, constantly improving itself by following recent developments, well acknowledging advanced medicine technologies, and being able to provide solutions to the health problems of the society, prone to teamwork, having professionalism values, acquired leadership skills and having good communication skills.

Additionally, the Faculty of Medicine is the only medicine faculty within the state-supported foundation universities of TRNC. Our faculty staff and international students whom we educated, are contributing to society, as well as global health problems.

 Vision: To be a leading and preferred medical school with advanced student-oriented education and research opportunities, a strong corporate culture and identity, and a well-known, leading and preferred medical school in its region and the world.

 Institutional goals and objectives

 Education:

 Goal: To train well-educated medical doctors who are questioning, focusing on evidence-based medical practices, contributing to the production of universal knowledge by closely following the progression of science, are ethically conscious, have high analytical thinking skills, can turn technology into knowledge, can treat diseases correctly as well as manage public health.

Our primary goals for our students are to be aware of global and local health problems, to understand the importance of the physical, mental and social protective health of the society in the geographies where they will work after graduation, and to be aware of the search for solutions.

 Objectives: 

  1. By the first year of medical education, our students are capable of developing communication, research, clinical and leadership skills, the importance of evidence-based medicine, the importance of a comprehensive approach to clinical cases, to see human health as a whole with its social, psychological and organic elements, and to make decisions by establishing a cause-effect relationship.
  2. Ensuring that students encounter the patients and improve their clinical skills from early periods of their education
  3. Our medical students aim to conduct high-quality and international scientific research to measure the frequency of public health problems in TRNC and the level of public awareness
  4. Providing high-quality education by using technological developments in the field of medicine
  5. As Faculty of Medicine, we are aiming to provide an opportunity for our students to participate in internships and exchange programs with relevant universities, hospitals and academic bodies in the country and/or abroad, through international institutions such as the EU and WHO.
  6. To ensure that students take active responsibility in scientific activities such as organizing webinars/congresses.
  7. Planning regular training for the development of Faculty of Medicine instructors
  8. Creating Master's or Doctoral Programs in the field of medicine other than the medical program.
  9. Participating in studies to improve medical education on the island

 Research:

Goal: The primary goal is to contribute to the national and international medical literature by conducting innovative research for the medical literature, including research that identifies local health problems, improves public health and raises public awareness.

 Objectives:

  1. Ensuring that students work actively in research
  2. Giving priority to epidemiological research to protect public health
  3. Establishing multidisciplinary research centers
  4. Providing necessary support for research
  5. Working in cooperation with the TRNC Ministry of Health and other non-faculty institutions
  6. Ensuring that the resulting research is published in national and international journals and presented at congresses

 Service

 Goal: To provide solutions to the health problems of the local people with a multidisciplinary approach and to ensure that society obtains accurate information.

 Objectives:

  1. To communicate with the authorities to take precautions in line with the results of the epidemiological study and to ensure their follow-up.
  2. Providing consultancy services to TRNC Ministry of Health and health institutions
  3. Ensuring that the public receives information about health from accurate and reliable sources
  4. To provide the public with the necessary support for diagnosis and treatment of epidemic diseases as soon as possible
