 Goals and Objectives of MU-EMU International Joint Medical Program

Education Goals: 

Our aim is to educate physicians who are inquisitive, grounded in evidence-based medical practices, closely follow advancements in science to contribute to universal knowledge, are ethically conscious and adhere to ethical principles, possess strong analytical thinking skills, can transform technology into knowledge, and are capable of not only accurately treating diseases but also managing public health. Given the diverse ethnic backgrounds of our students, one of our primary goals is to ensure that they are aware of global and local health issues and understand the importance of preventive healthcare in the physical, mental, and social dimensions of the communities they will serve after graduation. Broadly, the IJMP stands out as a reference medical program implemented by two leading educational institutions.

Educational Objectives: 

1. Implementing an educational program designed to fulfill the fundamental roles expected of a physician (an advocate of the "First, do no harm" principle, health advocate, scientist, effective under emergency and elective conditions, a good communicator, team member, leader, and manager) and to develop the related competencies (communication, research, clinical skills, awareness of a holistic approach to clinical cases, and the ability to establish cause-effect relationships).
2. Structuring our educational program and graduates' competencies and proficiencies in alignment with the National Core Education Program, while addressing the priority health issues of society. 
3. Enhancing the teaching qualifications of faculty members and ensuring they remain updated on the educational program and teaching methods.
4. Adopting contemporary and effective methods for education, teaching, assessment, and evaluation.
5. Expanding and maintaining opportunities for students to participate in internships and exchange programs in hospitals and academic institutions both domestically and internationally through organizations such as the EU and WHO, as well as partnerships with affiliated universities.
6. Securing national and international accreditation for both undergraduate and postgraduate educational programs.

Research Objectives

1. Engaging in research collaborations with successful universities and institutions both domestically and internationally to increase the number and quality of research and scientific studies, and to complete studies aimed at products and patents.
2. Ensuring the optimal use of the potential of a strong faculty and actively involving students in research activities.
3. Contributing to the establishment and operation of research centers to facilitate the execution of research and the planning of multidisciplinary studies.
4. Prioritizing epidemiological research aimed at protecting public health.
5. Providing the necessary educational resources to enable and support the creation of new projects.
6. Encouraging the presentation of research findings at high-impact and reputable conferences and their publication in prestigious journals.
7. Enhancing the quality and quantity of master's and doctoral programs to align with and support the institution's mission and vision.

Providing efficient and high-quality services with an effective, reliable, and multidisciplinary approach in all fields of medicine, while being conscious of and sensitive to the needs of society.

Service Objectives

1. Adopting approaches that prioritize patient safety and ensure all practices are carried out within the framework of ethical principles.
   
2. Establishing communication with the necessary authorities to implement preventive measures based on the results of epidemiological studies and ensuring their follow-up.
3. Enhancing the efficiency of collaborations with Ministries of Health and providing consultancy services to healthcare institutions.
4. Taking necessary measures to coordinate applied medical education, healthcare service delivery, and research activities in a harmonious manner.
