14 March Medicine Day and White Coat Ceremony

Eastern Mediterranean University Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty is finalising the preparations for 14 March Medicine Day and White Coat Ceremony which will take place at EMU Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, 14 March 2015.

Prior to the ceremony at 10:00 a.m., EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty Dean, academic staff members and students will be laying flowers at Atatürk's monument on EMU campus. During the ceremony which will commence with a moment of silence, the national anthem and a mini-concert, freshman year students Tasnim Munther S. Alkayyalı and Emine Meltem will be delivering speeches on behalf of Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty.

Following student speeches, EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Nahide Gökçora and EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam will be delivering opening addresses. After protocol speeches, the ceremony will continue with white coat donning to freshman year students. During the ceremony, honor and high-honor certificates will be awarded to successful students. Certificates of appreciation will also be presented to doctors who have contributed to Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty. Following the awarding of the certificates, academic staff member Dr. Şefik Görkey will be delivering the 'first lesson' of the semester. The ceremony will end with a cocktail.
