17 OCTOBER 2019 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS EVENT

Eastern Mediterranean University Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of  Medicine Faculy Members  Prof. Dr. Nahide Gökçora and Assist. Prof. Dr. Bülent Sezgin participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness Event. The event took place in the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Talasemia Center and Conference Hall, Nicosia on 17 October 2019. The event started with the opening speech of Minister of Health Dr. Ali Pilli.

After the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nahide Gökçora made her presentation on "Awareness in Breast Cancer". Prof. Gökçora mentioned the symptoms and risk factors of breast cancer, which is a common cancer type in women, and the importance of early diagnosis in treatment of breast cancer. She has also informed the participants about the common misknown information about breast cancer.

After Prof. Dr. Nahide Gökçora's speech, Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Medicine faculty member Assist. Prof. Dr. Bülent Sezgin informed the participants about the 'Self-Examination Method in Breast Cancer '. Dr. Sezgin, emphasized that the self-examination is very valuable in early diagnosis of breast cancer. He was also added to his words that self and regular breast examination allows early diagnosis in women.
