The U.K. based Times Higher Education (THE), the publisher of widely-referenced university rankings worldwide announced the World University Rankings in the field of Business and Economics. Only EMU from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and 11 universities from Turkey have appeared in the ranking, in which a total of 795 universities have been included. EMU Business and Economics Faculty, which appeared in the 401-500 band last year, increased its success this year and has appeared amongst the world's top 250 Business and Economics Faculties, whilst sharing the first place with Koç University in Turkey in the 201-250 band. Bilkent University, METU, Sabancı University and Yıldız Technical University, which succeeded in being listed among Turkish universities, have appeared in the 401-500 band and thus, come second. Boğaziçi University, Dokuz Eylül University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul University and Marmara University shared the third place in the 601+ band. Three universities in total made it to the list across the island of Cyprus, while EMU has appeared in the top band among these universities. Among the said universities, the second ranked university is in the 501-600 band.

EMU Achieves Higher in World Rankings
Despite the fact that more and more universities are included in the THE lists each year, EMU continues to rise rapidly in the world rankings, climbing 300 places in the THE World University Rankings compared to the previous year, and is among the top 600 universities in the world. Standing out with its international outlook and citations from the scientific articles it produces, EMU continues to successfully represent the TRNC in world rankings and to offer quality education to its students.
