Red Crescent Week- Blood Donation Event

On 4^th of November, which is the last day of the Red Crescent Week, one of the clubs of our faculty; the Medical Student Association (EMUMSA), organized a blood donation event together with the Northern Cyprus Turkish Red Crescent to support the fulfillment of the blood supply of Northern Cyprus and to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation.

The event was organized by Eastern Mediterranean University Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Medicine under the leadership of Public Health Director Yasemin BALCI, President of the Board Özgün GÜNAY and Vice President Kağan Ali KOLSARICI. With the participation of faculty students, Northern Cyprus Medical Student Association (MSANC) Executive Board and Kyrenia University Medical Student Association (KUMSA), blood donation event was completed successfully. In addition to our students, our faculty employees and faculty members also donated blood to support the event.

                With the "Every drop saves lives" motto, it has pointed out that every year thousands of people in Northern Cyprus lose their lives because they cannot find blood to support them after an accident or illness and the importance of blood donation was emphasized. With this occasion, Turkish Red Crescent Week was celebrated on October 29 - November 4.
